Eddie Hearn Reveals How Close Joshua First Fight Of 2019 Is

Things are now starting to line up for heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s first fight of 2019.

April 13th at Wembley has now been ruled out and all signs are now pointing to a US fight on the 1st of June.

Most likely against New York’s Jarrell Miller.

Speaking to Adam Smith on Sky Sports News promoter of Joshua, Eddie Hearn said:

“There are big moves (going on at the moment(. Looking at the Miller fight. New York is something that we didn’t expect but as we talk more about it and speak to special venues like Madison Square Garden it’s starting to sound quite special.”

He continued:

“We have deep talks progressing (with Jarrell Miller) now. There is no deal as of right now but right now it looks like a strong possibility.”

On the subject he concluded:

“But June 1st is some weeks away but obviously we want to get it announced. AJ wants to do know what he’s doing and hopefully by the end of this week or the weekend we could be in a position to announce his next fight.”

Expect news by the end of the week more than likely.
