Billy Joe Saunders Gets Good News About His Old World Title

Former WBO middleweight champion of the world Billy Joe Saunders has got some good news today to ensure his 2019 boxing campaign gets off to a good start.

The WBO have ordered that current champion Demetrius Andrade must face Saunders next up.

The two had been due to fight in Boston last year before Saunders was forced to pull out of the fight due to an alleged failed drugs test that resulted in a lot of confusion afterwards.

Things have been quickly remedied and resolved however with the fight now set to take place once again this year.

Likely the bout will be in the US again and on streaming provider DAZN.

Andrade stepped in to win the title in the meantime but he knows he’ll need to beat Saunders to be considered the real WBO champion of the world with the Brit not losing his title in the ring last year.

As a fight itself, expect a technical battle between two of the slickest fighters around at 160lbs at the moment.

Two guys who are well able to talk too — no doubt an enjoyable fight build-up awaits.
