Roy Jones Gives His Take On Whether Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 Happens

Manny Pacquiao showed that at age 40 this past weekend he is still capable of competing at a very high level in boxing.

Sure, he’s past his prime, but he still makes for entertaining viewing and totally out boxed and out worked an in-shape, eleven year his junior, four-weight world champion in Adrien Broner at the MGM this past Saturday in Vegas.

Attention has now turned to if Pacquiao will rematch Floyd Mayweather later this year.

One boxing legend, Roy Jones told a group of reporters in an open media scrum after the fight that:

“Probably. Probably (Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 happens). For them (I’d like to see it) because of the amount of money they are making, yes. But for the competitive factor, not really. I know that Floyd is slick, Floyd is fast, Floyd is one of the best ever so it will be a very difficult day for Pacquiao to come into change the first fight (result) but for the amount of money they are going to make — I’m for it.”

It was revealed earlier today however that Pacquiao suffered a bad injury to his eye in the fight on Saturday.

Reports suggest that he may not fight again as a consequence but it is still very early to know at this time until Pacquiao himself discloses the results of any future scans on the eye.
