Unbeaten Heavyweight Oscar Rivas Produces Dramatic TKO Of Bryant Jennings

If you haven’t heard of 31 year old Columbia-born heavyweight Oscar Rivas you will have after this past Friday night.

Fighting on ESPN in Verona the big hitting heavyweight tore up the script as he proceeded to stop 34 year old Bryant Jennings inside the distance.

It wasn’t long ago that Jennings was considered one of the top rising American heavyweight contenders.

After a brief five-fight unbeaten streak coming into the fight with Rivas he will need to regroup once again after this.

The action ebbed and flowed throughout but in the 12th and final round here’s what happened to close the show:

A very impressive finish and display of killer instinct when he got his man hurt.

The bout was quite close on the cards at the time of stoppage — so Jennings should not feel too bad about it and can definitely come again.

The above is just an illustration of how heavyweight boxing can change in the space of a second mid fight, really.

Such is the power that boxers in the weight category punch with.

Oscar Rivas, though, kudos on getting the upset win this Friday night.

Certainly a name to watch out for this year. A new rising contender in the heavyweight division perhaps.

The win improved his professional record in boxing to 26-18KO at this time.

All in all, the heavyweights are weight class that is a real shark pool at the top of it at the moment with the likes of Joshua, Fury and Wilder all vying for supremacy.
