Bob Arum Unashamedly Disrespects World Champion Shawn Porter

Ever hear of a Hall of Fame promoter call a current world champion boxer a journeyman before?

Well now you have.

Legendary promoter Bob Arum while approaching 90 years of age is still as passionate, shrewd and as feisty as ever about the sport he loves.

So much so that he’s renewed (his one way) war and verbal bashing in the media against Premier Boxing Champions founder and his good friend Al Haymon — who’s fighters fight on rival TV networks and platforms to those of Arum’s Top Rank Promotions do currently.

Bob has now taken it a step further with belittling and downplaying of some of Haymon’s fighters in particular, Shawn Porter.

Even saying to Behind The Gloves that:

“(Shawn) Porter, you know, is more or less a journeyman. Shawn Porter (yeah him). I mean, he’s you know, he fights like a journeyman. He doesn’t have great skill.”

To which the interviewer replied:

“But he’s won two world titles?”

To which Bob replied:

“Yeah so. He’s still fights like a (journeyman). A very courageous fighter and everything but he fights like a journeyman. Not great skills.”

At this time Shawn Porter of Las Vegas holds the WBC welterweight world title and a professional record of 29-2-1 (17KO).
