Good News For Those Hoping For A Possible Canelo vs Golovkin 3 Fight In 2019

Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin shared the ring for a second time in 2018 in what was one of the best fights of the year.

A rematch that took place in Las Vegas after many months of bad blood, drug test controversy and that ultimately led to a battle at the T-Mobile Arena.

Alvarez surprised everyone by taking the fight to the perceived stronger and bigger punching ‘GGG’ and won by majority decision in the end.

Despite the compelling nature of the fight, and indeed of the first fight, many fans still want to see a trilogy because of the close nature of both battles so far and in still, in the eyes of some — controversial judging.

Now it has emerged on ESPN 97.5 Houston radio that early talks for a trilogy in 2019 have started.

Promoter of Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya mentioned tentative talks have begun for a potential third fight to take place in May.

The big question in making the fight however is what platform or network will Golovkin sign to.

Canelo was linked with a fight against Daniel Jacobs next up but surely the Golovkin trilogy would take precedence if it can be made due to the sheer size of the fight.

Canelo signed to streaming service DAZN last year and one would imagine ‘GGG’ would need to do the same to make this fight happen.
