One of the world’s leading boxing promoters Eddie Hearn has had another year to remember for his boxing stable this year both at home and abroad.
This year Hearn began his assault on the American landscape charged with a one billion dollar war chest from US streaming giant DAZN.
Overall, 2018 has been another great year for boxing in truth but what could lay ahead in the years ahead could even be better.
Incredibly when you think about it.
The next ten years for boxing could be special largely because of the rivalries that are now forming at the top of the different weight divisions coupled with the renewed interest in the sport from a casual sports fan perspective.
From Hearn’s perspective speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV he outlined what he’d like to see next year:
“Joshua vs Wilder, Joshua vs Fury, Joshua vs Whyte, Joshua vs Miller, Brook vs Khan, Fowler vs Cheeseman, Fowler vs Fitzgerald, Dave Allen against Lucas Browne, Kal Yafai against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai or Gonzalez, Usyk against Ward, Bivol against Beterbiev, Buatsi against one of them (previous two fighters), Canelo vs Jacobs, Callum Smith vs Canelo, Callum Smith vs Golovkin, I love that fight, Canelo vs Golovkin 3, Josh Kelly against Danny Garcia.”
Some belting fights there for sure.
Perhaps the heavyweight division will capture the main focus next year between possible fights involving Joshua, Fury and Wilder.
