Liverpool’s Rocky Fielding fights the biggest star in boxing this weekend Canelo Alvarez in the most iconic boxing venue of all time — Madison Square Garden.
Something literally out of a Rocky movie in fairness, no pun intended.
But Fielding will not only have the support of a nation with him in the UK, but also the most famous man from his native Liverpool behind him — soccer star Wayne Rooney:
The fight this weekend will take place on DAZN in the US and on Sky Sports for those in the UK and Ireland.
The bout will be for the WBA ‘Regular’ super-middleweight title currently held by Fielding and will see Canelo move up to 168lbs for the first time as a professional.
He’ll give away 5 inches in height to his British counterpart all in all and if he were to win the fight this weekend, it would surely go down as one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.
