Wilder Makes Serious Claim About What Joshua’s Team Are Doing To Him

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has had no love lost with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn this year it’s fair to say.

At various points Wilder has pointed to Hearn as the main reason that a massive heavyweight title fight unification between him and Joshua did not happen in 2018.

Wilder at the moment appears to favor taking on Tyson Fury in a rematch next up as opposed to a unification with Joshua but speaking today, Wilder said even if he wanted the fight he doesn’t believe it can be made still because of the people around Joshua.

Speaking to Chris Mannix on Sports Illustrated, Wilder said:

“How does he in enter in (to the mix to fight me)? He don’t run his team — they run him. The thing about it is the can do it for the life of them. He’s a fighter. He only has a certain time frame. His window will close one day. We can’t do this forever so when the opportunity presents itself he must take it. Not put his fate, his date, his destiny in somebody else’s hands.”

Wilder to this day contends that Joshua and his team left a 50 million dollar offer to fight him on the table.

Joshua last fought against Alexander Povetkin back in September at Wembley stadium — scoring an impressive stoppage on the night.
