Mick Conlan Scores TKO Win In 9th Pro Fight

Irish boxing star and rising worldwide respected prospect Mick Conlan chalked in a nice display in Las Vegas on Saturday night to continue his climb up the ranks.

Conlan switched trainers to the UK’s Adam Booth earlier this year and you can see some of their early work is now starting to bed in and settle down.

He closed the show in round 7 at the Park Theatre in Las Vegas against Nicola Cipolletta to improve his professional boxing record to 9-0-6KO.

Here’s the moment it happened:

Conlan from Belfast is expected to get out again before the year is out in December against what coach Adam Booth is calling on his promoter’s Top Rank as a step up in competition.

Mick looks like one of those fighters who will box to the level of competition that’s put in front of him but like all young professional fighters, he needs time to learn and develop his trade in the beginning of the pro game and can’t be rushed too quickly.

Particularly with changes of trainers involved early on in his career. Once a solid style is formed of fighting that he’s happy with in the pro game, that’s it then.

But he’s coming along nicely.

Conlan’s fellow promotional stable mate Shakur Stevenson won in the first round last weekend and as the two continue their ascent in the boxing world a budding rivalry is slowly but surely forming for what one day will be an explosive clash in the ring.
