UFC Fighter Calls Out Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao has received a rather surprise call out from an unexpected fighter (and sport) as he gets ready for his upcoming Adrien Broner bout.

Earlier this week Pacquiao confirmed that he will take on Broner this coming January.

It was also widely reported that PacMan signed a two fight deal with US boxing manager and PBC founder Al Haymon – with the second fight expected to be a Floyd Mayweather rematch next year.

Pacquiao is now free from his old promoter Top Rank so in theory the world is now his proverbial oyster in terms of who, where and when he fights.

Speaking to TMZ UFC fighter Coby Garbrandt said he’s more than happy for a piece of Pacquiao however:

“I’m a fan of that (crossover between boxing and MMA). A lot of us have boxing backgrounds. Why can’t we go in there and mix it up with some of the best boxers?”

Coby’s team member then intervened:

“I think Coby Garbrandt vs Manny Pacquiao would be a good fight!”

To which Copy replied:

“I’d love that fight. Call (Manny) Dana White and Zuffa boxing.”

There does seem to be a lot of crossover between boxing and MMA as of late.

Largely down to one Floyd Mayweather calling out the likes of UFC champion Khabib and having fought Conor McGregor in a boxing match last year.

Time will tell if the trend continues.
