Mayweather Promotions CEO Retaliates To De La Hoya's Approach For Gervonta Davis

Gervonta Davis’ relationship with his promotional company appears to be better than what it was a few weeks ago after some engagement between him and CEO Leonard Ellerbe on Twitter. However, promoter Oscar De La Hoya has allegedly tried to make a move for Davis while he is under contract with another promoter – and it has not gone down well.

Gervonta Davis has had a year to forget in many ways this year.

He was supposed to be fighting Abner Mares next up but that realistically isn’t happening before the end of the year at this point.

Strained relations with head of his promotional company Floyd Mayweather led to a frustrating 2018 all in all.

Rival promoter Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions celebrated a historic agreement this week with DAZN that saw his star fighter Canelo sign up to the platform for eleven fights over five years.
