Report: Canelo DAZN Deal Worth A WHOPPING Amount Of Money

Canelo vs Kovalev Live: Boxing Community Vent Disgust At Chaotic Wait

Canelo Alvarez and DAZN although not officially confirmed by either party just yet, have had their deal let slip to various journalists – one of which has now been made privy to the details of what appears to be an unprecedented deal in the sport of boxing.

First off, in recent years to watch a Canelo fight in America, you would have had to shell out big bucks to buy one of his fights on pay per view.

That is now over.

For 9.99 per month on a subscription basis to DAZN that you can cancel anytime, boxing fans will be able to watch his fight on December 15th at Madison Square Garden against Rocky Fielding for a fraction of the price as well as getting an entire month’s boxing content.

Dan Rafael has revealed on ESPN that the deal signed is worth a whopping $365 million dollars and is over five years and eleven fights.

An incredible figure and guaranteed number of fights showing that DAZN are indeed committed to the long-term growth of boxing in America and dispelling notions that they had an option to pull the plug after two years into Eddie Hearn’s billion dollar investment.

This appears to be a totally separate deal according to Rafael’s report however, where Golden Boy look to be planning to make DAZN their new home for boxing.

Making DAZN’s commitment, belief and investment in the sport of boxing even bigger then Eddie’s initial one billion dollar deal.

Who’s to say DAZN can’t have Matchroom / Hearn, De La Hoya / Golden Boy and Al Haymon (managed fighters) fights all on their platform in time?

Stranger things have happened.

Overall, super, super stuff for boxing.
