Canelo Jabs Mayweather After Signing With DAZN

Canelo in recent days intimated that he would love to rematch Floyd Mayweather after hearing the boxer is coming out of retirement and today after the official news that he has signed with streaming service DAZN, he had a brief but serious message for Mayweather.

Mayweather is linked with a boxing match against UFC champion Khabib at present ahead of what he has also said will be a rematch with Manny Pacquiao next year at some point.

Pacquiao must first fight Adrien Broner in January most likely.

There’s a lot of moving parts involving a lot of fighters linked to Mayweather, as you can see, but Canelo is adamant that he wants to fight him again if he returns to boxing.

Speaking to members of the media after today’s press conference announcing his next fight Canelo said:

“I would love to fight Floyd Mayweather again. I would like to take that thorn from my side.”

Canelo lost a clear points decision a few years back when he fought Mayweather in a masterclass display for Floyd Mayweather.

Canelo has moved up to super-middleweight at this stage as well for the Rocky Fielding fight on December 15th.

So it would be hard to see how Mayweather who tends to never fight above super-welterweight would ever be willing to face him again.
