Terence Crawford's Immediate Reaction To Knocking Benavidez Out

Terence Crawford impressed his hometown fans in Omaha once again as he marched on in style.

Ultimately he closed the show last night in the twelfth round to defend his WBO welterweight crown and keep alive some huge fight opportunities in the new year.

Straight after the fight Crawford said:

“First and foremost I got to give honor to God for blessing me with this victory. Without him I wouldn’t be here today. We just took our time today. Everything that went on this week he was trying to get in my head, he wanted me to have a fire fight with him. We knew when we got in the ring we could do whatever we want with him and that’s what we did today.”

He continued:

“He made me work in the early rounds. He was trying to counter me. Working on my distance, I couldn’t figure it out at first but once I got my distance it was a wrap from there.”

On the uppercut that closed the show:

“I had been seeing it rounds and rounds ahead of time. I seen him pulling back but then I saw he was getting tired so I said I’d start leaning on him more and more because I was touching him to the body, and then I just threw the shot (uppercut) and it landed.”

Errol Spence is the man people want to see Crawford in there with next and earlier this week Crawford’s promoters did mention it’s a fight they are up for in the new year.
