Showtime Boss Reveals What Floyd Told Him About Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2

Showtime boss Stephen Espinoza has spoken for the first time about Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 since Floyd announced that he will rematch Pacquiao in recent weeks on social media.

Pacquiao followed suit but then Floyd said he needed a warm up fight first.

Pacquiao has now been linked with Mayweather’s manager and adviser Al Haymon in terms of doing a deal with him that could include two fights.

One against Mayweather and one potentially against Adrien Broner.

Many believe that the Broner fight will happen in the new year before ‘Pacman’ gets back in the ring with Mayweather later in 2019 for the final fight of his illustrious boxing career.

Showtime boss Stephen Espinoza told Fight Hub has confirmed that Mayweather is very serious about fighting the Filipino icon again next year:

“I’ve spoken to him (Floyd Mayweather) and he agrees, there’s certainly interest (in the rematch). Will it be as big as the first one? I mean, who knows? I didn’t expect that one (their first fight) to do what it did. But there is still interest at this point. They are still two huge names. I think it will definitely happen. Floyd is definitely very interested.”

He added:

“I would say it is something that we are definitely working to at this point (Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2).”

Interesting times, a lot will tell about this in the coming weeks one suspects.
