Al Haymon Poised To Swoop For Pacquiao For Mayweather Rematch

39-year-old Manny Pacquiao is thought to be on the verge of striking a significant deal with US boxing power player Al Haymon.

Pacquiao is thought to be in talks with Floyd Mayweather for a rematch next year and if the fight were to be made, someone like Haymon could certainly make it happen.

Pacquiao is now a free agent and appears not to be interested in working with old promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank again.

Now it looks like he’s interested in being a free agent and signing a deal that some are saying will be a two fight deal with Al Haymon – for the final two fights of his career in 2019.

Pacquiao had planned on boxing again in December but it’s debatable if he will now as the time frame seems unrealistic at this point.

The Filipino boxing legend has also sat down with Eddie Hearn and DAZN but if it’s a Mayweather rematch he wants to maximise earnings for the final stage of his career before retirement, likely Al Haymon and Showtime will be the guys he goes with one suspects.

In terms of how many pay per views the rematch with Mayweather will do, it obviously won’t do what it did in 2015, but it should still do between one to two million buys in the US alone.
