Dillian Whyte Shows Private Message Deontay Wilder Sent Him

Heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte has leaked a private message that WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder sent him in the past.

Whyte is like the elephant, he never forgets.

For some time Whyte has been high in the WBC rankings and is currently number one, although it appeared recently that Dominic Breazeale was somehow the mandatory contender.

The confusion of that situation with the WBC, coupled with the fact Wilder next faces Tyson Fury and likely has a rematch clause if he were to lose, makes it unclear if Whyte will ever get a shot at the belt.

In an interesting interview with DAZN Whyte has actually shown the message that Wilder himself sent him privately saying he’d make him wait two years for the fight:

Very interesting, and strange.

Why someone would make someone wait that length of time makes no sense.

Anything can happen in heavyweight boxing and one punch can derail any ambition to make such a long-term plan in this game.

Wilder faces Tyson Fury next on December 1st with location expected to be announced next week at some point.

Whyte is currently looking for his next opponent and has been linked with a rematch against Dereck Chisora this December.
