This past weekend’s super fight in Las Vegas has brought up a lot of talking points once again and a man in line to face the winner has given his Canelo vs GGG 2 post-fight reaction.

WBO middleweight world champion Billy Joe Saunders could well see himself in line to face Canelo Alvarez in the new year.

His team has talked to Canelo’s team in the past about making the fight and with the bout being a unification, it would likely generate a lot of interest in both the US, Mexico and the UK.

A fight to establish number one supremacy in the middleweight division.

The decision in Canelo vs GGG 2 at the weekend has divided many within the fight community this week but Saunders felt it was not a robbery.

Speaking on Talk Sport radio, Saunders said:

“But with Golovkin being champion, you can say maybe that warranted a draw more than the first one. It is what it is. It’s boxing at the end of the day, it wasn’t a blatant robbery. It was a close fight and you can’t really cry over it, put it that way.”

Saunders was caught up in a controversial video this week in the UK showing him appearing to offer a female drug addict drugs in exchange for a sex act for his friend.

Police have been reported to be investigating the incident at this time.
