Footage Shows Canelo Produced A Matrix Moment In GGG 2 Win

Canelo Alvarez produced his own Matrix type movement similar to that of one Vasyl Lomachenko this past weekend.

While the fight ended in a majority decision for Canelo and caused widespread debate online, it can’t be said that Canelo didn’t box well or implement a clever game plan on the night.

While yes, he did take the fight to Golovkin and boxed on the front foot, he wasn’t doing so at the risk of leaving himself there to be hit either.

He was slipping and sliding and deflecting shots from Golovkin while doing so and this short clip shows perhaps his best work in this regard:

Floyd Mayweather would have been proud of some of that work to be fair.

As for what’s next it has been reported that Canelo is looking to actually get straight back in the ring possibly against fellow stablemate at Golden Boy Promotions, David Lemieux in December.

Canelo did need six stitches from the weekend however so likely won’t start sparring again at the earliest four to six weeks time.

As a fight, you’d have to think Lemieux although a very big puncher, style-wise would suit Canelo down to the ground and be there to be hit for him.
