Mexican boxing legend Erik Morales knows Manny Pacquiao well having shared the ring with him towards the end of his career and has been one of the many people stunned at the news that a Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 fight appears to be happening.

Mayweather said today on his Twitter that he will be returning to face Manny Pacquiao this year.

Earlier today Pacquiao himself told the media that a deal is looking to be finalized this week for the fight.

Most likely on December 8th from early reports.

Speaking to EsNews, Morales said:

“When? December? You’re kidding?! Really.. They’re too old.”

He added:

“It’s all talk!”

Morales’ sentiment probably speaks for a lot of people in that this whole Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 news has really blind sided people and caught everyone off guard.

The sheer shock element of how Mayweather and Pacquiao broke the news at the weekend during the Golovkin vs Canelo 2 fight weekend didn’t really give people time to digest it

It appears to be happening with an official contract to be signed this week.

Something seems very fishy about the whole thing though, could they be planning a joint pay per view with Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder in December?
