It’s fair to say both fighters will be waking up with a few bumps and bruises this morning, and then some.

They put in a serious shift and night’s work last night. They left it all in the ring in the end.

Both suffered cuts and severe marks on their faces during the fight but by all accounts no injuries of note were sustained, thankfully.

Now as for what comes next.

Canelo will obviously hold the upper hand as the new champion in potential negotiations for a part three but perhaps a lot will come down to the two men’s desire to have a trilogy in the first place.

Both will need a rest and some time off after the above, whatever happens next.
