Canelo Reacts To Beating GGG, Golovkin Refuses To Do Interview In The Ring

Canelo Alvarez Brutally Knocks Out Sergey Kovalev

Canelo Alvarez became the new middleweight champion of the world tonight with a majority points decision over Gennady Golovkin at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

After the fight Gennady Golovkin left the ring straight away.

Clearly upset by the decision, he did not wish to stay in the ring to do an interview with HBO afterwards.

Speaking to HBO after the victory Canelo said:

“If the people want another fight, we’ll do it again. We’ll do it again, no doubt.”

He also paid tribute to Golovkin and his own home country of Mexico.

One thing you have to give credit for tonight to Canelo is the tactics he used.

Most expected him to box on the back foot and try to avoid Golovkin.

He opted however to be the aggressor for the whole night and pushed forward against Golovkin, something that many didn’t expect at all.

A ballsy, brave move that paid off in the end for him.

As for what’s next who knows.

A third fight between the two is arguably the best fight in the middleweight division that can be made again so why not?

Next May being another Mexican holiday and all, expect to see a part three in Vegas around then.
