Joe Joyce Vows To Become Heavyweight Champion Of The World Ahead Of US Debut

The UK’s Joe Joyce has now fully embarked upon his American boxing adventure with his first professional bout in the country confirmed.

Joyce had been training in Las Vegas and California regularly over the past year but now it has become more real with his first fight in the US set to take place at the end of the month on September 30th at the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario.

He takes on Georgian Lago Kiladze in his first professional fight in America.

Joyce has quickly put together five impressive knockouts so far (5-0-5KO) but he knows at the age he’s turned pro at, he needs to be fast tracked in the pros.

Speaking ahead of his debut Joyce said:

“I have a plan, and a goal to get where I want to be to win a world title. I’ve settled into Big Bear to train and it’s like my second home. I’m looking forward to making my U.S. debut on September 30. I’m going to show the American fans my style and put on a really good show and a strong performance. Stay tuned and watch my progression here in the U.S., because I’m going to be heavyweight champion of the world.”

The heavyweight landscape couldn’t be anymore of a shark pool than it is at the moment.

Joyce will certainly have his work cut out.

The UK heavyweight is promoted by David Haye and Richard Schaefer’s Ringstar so he should be given quite the backing in terms of PR and promotion.

The rest is up to him, as they say.
