Hughie Fury One Fight Away From A Shot At Anthony Joshua

While a lot has been spoken about the Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury heavyweight triangle mix, another Fury is just one fight away from putting his name into the hat.

That is of course former world title challenger Hughie Fury.

A heavyweight much younger than most in the top end of the division and a quiet, humble, hard-working fighter who has chosen to let his fists do the talking as opposed to engaging in trash talk and call outs.

A very different personality to his cousin and former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, but an equally impressive boxing skill set in terms of its purity and how it was honed.

His only defeat as a professional came last year to former WBO champion Joseph Parker of New Zealand, but it was a highly controversial decision that could have easily went his way another night.

Breaking convention and going down their own route, Hughie, his father and trainer Peter Fury and their promoter Mick Hennessy are back on their travels soon to Sofia, Bulgaria.

They take on respected Bulgarian heavyweight contender in his home country of Bulgaria on October 27th in what is an official final eliminator for the IBF heavyweight title.

A belt currently held by Anthony Joshua who defends it later this month against Russian Alexander Povetkin.

So, while there has been talk of Joshua vs Wilder next April, or even Joshua vs Tyson Fury if the latter beats Deontay Wilder later this year, just remember there could be another fighter with the surname Fury in the mix for Joshua next year if the IBF call their mandatory.
