New ESPN Ad Puts Golovkin and Canelo Awkwardly Next To One Another - Hatred Palpable

Both Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez had previously vowed to not see one another face to face until fight week before their rematch on September, such is the level of disdain between the two. However, a new Sports Center advert on ESPN has forced the two into what looks like a hilariously awkward situation.

Sitting in the same cubicle booth in the ESPN offices, promoter Oscar De La Hoya watches on in the story line of their advert.

Both guys clearly not happy to be in one another’s company, you’d imagine this had to pretty awkward to shoot given the genuine needle between the two:

Cheesy? Check?

Still good though? Double check.

The two fighters are now in the final leg of preparations with just two weeks to go to what will be one of the biggest fights of the entire year.

Both fighters are in peak condition and at this point will be tapering off, finishing off sparring and then focusing on making weight on fight week.

Making weight won’t be an issue for either guy however, with both well on target for 160lbs as pointed out by the recent 30 day weight check.

The fight takes place on September 15th live at the T-Mobile Arena on HBO pay per view.
