Lennox Lewis Reveals Who He Thinks Best Heavyweight Is In Modern Boxing

Lennox Lewis Gives His Final Prediction On Wilder vs Fury

Lennox Lewis is currently back in the UK ahead of an upcoming show on September 6th in London that will feature untold stories from his life and career as well as a host of big names from the boxing world.

Lewis spends his time in numerous locations around the world these days.

A busy family man nowadays, Lewis was always known as a fighter from many different places given his multiple passports for the UK, Canada and Jamaica, as well as spending a lot of time in the US.

Every now and then however the respected former undisputed heavyweight champion turns up on the boxing circuit and gives his years of knowledge back to modern fans on various topics.

Perhaps the most widely talked about topic in boxing this year has been Lewis’ old division.

Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV Lewis sees Anthony Joshua as the best of the bunch:

“Anthony Joshua, he’s the head man right now. He can take his time. He can do what he wants to do. He’s got a process that he wants to go through so he can’t fight Deontay until next year. That’s what he said.”

He was keen to point out however given the size of Joshua, Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, anyone of them can end a fight with one punch:

“Anytime they throw a punch it’s a wallop. It lands – it can wobble you. If you’re able to not get wobbled in the fight you might have a chance, but anyone of these top heavyweights throw a punch – there’s 240 pounds behind it – so there’s a great impact. It can put you out. It can make history.”

Joshua faces Alexander Povetkin on September 22nd at Wembley stadium in London.

Fury is set to take on Deontay Wilder by the end of the year in Las Vegas.
