Garcia Warns Not To Write Off Pacquiao If He Fights Crawford

Danny Garcia appears to be one of the few giving Pacquiao any sort of chance in a potential Terence Crawford showdown.

The two were tipped to fight late last year and early this year but with Pacquiao’s promotional deal with old promoter and current Crawford promoter Top Rank coming to an end, the Filipino boxing legend is still looking for a new promoter which in turn will dictate who he fights.

If he were to re-sign with Bob Arum and Top Rank a Terence Crawford showdown could be made relatively easy one would have thought.

Speaking to Fight Hub and other members of the press, Garcia said of a potential fight:

“Nah (he’s not too much for him). Pacman’s a veteran. Pacman’s a veteran.”

On who he thinks would win the fight, he couldn’t decide:

“I don’t know. It depends.”

Garcia takes on Shawn Porter on September 8th live on Showtime from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Pacquiao for his part is still in negotiations with numerous promoters including Eddie Hearn and new US streaming platform DAZN.
