Hearn Slams How Regular Al Haymon Boxers Fight – Eyes Big Signings For DAZN

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is being aggressive in the American boxing market at the moment as he bids to sign more and more fighters for the new DAZN streaming platform.

Hearn is on the hunt for some major signings and is linked with the likes of Mikey Garcia and Manny Pacquiao at the moment.

He has already secured Anthony Joshua for DAZN next month when he takes on Alexander Povetkin at Wembley but is looking at signing another two major signings before DAZN kicks off with the Joshua fight on September 22nd.

Speaking to Tha Boxing Voice in Boston ahead of the Billy Joe Saunders vs Demetrius Andrade fight on October 20th at the TD Arena, Hearn said:

“Is that what you want (to get a cash advance and box once a year for Haymon)? Because I’ll take care of you with fights, activity and with money, and with a professional business and team of 20 people, and a promotional outfit who are actually going to push your profile to people. Not sitting indoors. We’re out there. We’re on the streets. We’re making things happen. We’re pushing your profile. How are you going to create a legacy boxing once a year (under Haymon)?

He later said:

“We don’t need credibility but we need to re-enforce it with people who are being told lies by people – you’re mad if you do that (sign with Hearn and DAZN)! You’re going to walk away from HBO or Showtime? What? Boxing for a broadcaster (HBO or Showtime) once a year who’s got no money?.’

The battle ground that is American boxing is certainly heating up now.
