Golovkin Speaks On Canelo's Punching Power

Gennady Golovkin has made no secret about the fact he despises his upcoming opponent Canelo Alvarez ahead of their clash in Las Vegas on September 15th.

A rematch some time in the making, the bad blood between the two has really bubbled away below the surface in recent months and the closer the fight gets, the more it’s coming to the boiling point.

Golovkin for his part hates how (in his view) Canelo lied and cheated in a doping scandal that saw the rematch pushed back six months this year.

Canelo as a proud Mexican warrior maintains the result was due to tainted meat in his home country and hasn’t taken kindly to Golovkin’s words towards him.

Well, ‘GGG’ has launched another few candid words at his Mexican counterpart this past weekend.

Speaking to the press, the middleweight champion said of Canelo’s punching power:

“I remember I saw a couple (of punches from him) from the first fight. I don’t feel (them) really. It was like slap, slap (motioning his hand back and forth). I didn’t feel real power.”

Some have commented that they believe Canelo will look to bring the fight more to Golovkin second time round.

Hopefully he does – what a fight we have on our hands if so.
