Fans Concerned About Status Of Wilder vs Fury Fight After Journalist Makes Bold Claim

Could the Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury fight be off before it even happens? Earlier this week promoter Eddie Hearn mentioned he is not sure if the fight will even happen. Now boxing’s most prominent journalist has delivered some concerning news about the bout.

Tyson Fury and his trainer Ben Davison are enjoying a week off this week after another tough training camp that saw Fury get down to 18 stone 6 pounds in a unanimous points decision win over Francesco Pianeta last weekend in Belfast.

Straight after the fight WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder got into the ring and the two men posed for face offs with the fight being announced as on.

However no formal confirmation of date and venue has come as of yet.

Now ESPN’s Dan Rafael has said in an internet chat forum:

“But the latest from Fury’s team is that he is now apparently balking at the fight. I was told that yesterday by a member of his management team.”

The above comes as rather strange news as Fury seemed more than happy about the fight last week and by all accounts, the vast majority of details have been agreed upon for the fight to happen.

These kind of stories often happen when big fights are being made, to be fair.

Negotiations are not done until they are signed on the dotted line as they say.

Lets hope the fight is announced next week.
