Deontay Wilder’s Reaction To Tyson Fury’s Epic Ring Walk In Belfast

WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder was made feel at home in more ways than one last night with a song about his native land.

Alabama’s Deontay Wilder might have felt back home for a second last night when ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ came on for the music for Tyson Fury’s ring walk at Windsor Park in Belfast.

This writer’s seen a lot of ring walks over the years but last night was up there with the best of them.

A mixture of songs and Rocky audio made Fury’s ring walk one to remember.

But, just before it was over, he was sure to make his American counterpart feel at home with ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ as Wilder sang along:

The fight between the two is widely thought to be heading to Las Vegas later this year so expect plenty more ring walk special effects and props when the two get in the ring.

Many think the fight is too soon for Fury into his comeback but former heavyweight champion David Haye made an interesting point last night that got me thinking.

Fury took it easy against Pianeta overall, stuck to the game plan and banked the rounds he needed.

But one got the feeling he could have done a lot more.

If he wanted to, that is.

Haye’s point suggested that perhaps Fury didn’t go full-out last night as he wanted Wilder to think he’s getting him at the right time and lull him into a false sense of security, as it were.

It wouldn’t surprise me. Fury’s no fool.
