Tyson Fury Dominates Francesco Pianeta To Set Up Wilder Title Shot

Fury made a successful second comeback fight tonight in a rainy Windsor Park in Belfast as he set up a huge fight against WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder later this year.

Fury looked far trimmer than he did in his first comeback fight against Sefer Seferi and more focused too.

That said, he clearly enjoyed himself tonight as well.

He came to the ring to the song ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ while Alabama native Deontay Wilder sang on ringside.

Ricky Hatton made an appearance tonight in Fury’s corner as chief second to head trainer Ben Davison.

Fury started the fight comfortably and eased his way into the bout round by round.

Early on Fury was taking it easy, winning the rounds without difficulty and using Pianeta to work on his timing and defense, noticeably lighter on his feet than last time out.

His reflexes looked a bit better than the Seferi fight and at one point he held onto the ropes in the early rounds while he evaded Pianeta’s attacks with some impressive head movement.

As the fight wore on into the second half of the bout Fury started breaking his opponent down.

Pianeta looked like he was finally starting to find the going tough in round seven, as Fury started to bust him up.

Fury closed out the remaining rounds with ease and earned a unanimous points decision in a complete shut out.
