David Haye Reveals Left Field Boxer He Thinks Tyson Fury Could Fight

Former cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion David Haye is busy as a promoter these days now that he’s retired but still keeps an eye on the heavyweight division as a fan as well as being a promoter.

Haye called time on his career earlier this year after Liverpool’s Tony Bellew exacted a second straight defeat upon him at the 02 Arena in London.

Haye is now focused on his promotional company with one of his leading boxers being a heavyweight prospect at the moment – Joe Joyce from the UK.

Joyce was tabbed to fight UK heavyweight Dereck Chisora but negotiations reportedly fell down after Chisora was not happy with the money that was on offer.

Since then, Chisora has resurrected his heavyweight career after a stunning knockout of Carlos Takam and now finds himself back in the mix for big fights.

Indeed, Haye told The Daily Star that he believes Chisora could end up landing a fight against Tyson Fury quite soon:

“You’ve got Dereck Chisora. Everyone thought he was washed up, but he’s proven he’s back in the world-class.”

He added:

“Tyson Fury holds two victories over Chisora already, but the Chisora that he holds victory over doesn’t seem as good as today’s Chisora.”

For sure, Fury and Chisora’s two fights were some time ago at this stage and if for whatever reason the planned Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury fight for this November or December were not to come off, a third fight between Fury and Chisora would certainly be of interest to many a boxing fan.
