Could Mayweather The Promoter Surprise Everyone and Sign Old Rival Pacquiao?

40 Years Old But Same Old Money May - What Pacquiao 2 Announcement Proved

Recently Floyd Mayweather intimated that he would be interested in having a conversation with his old rival Manny Pacquiao in terms of signing him to his promotional company Mayweather Promotions.

It is thought at the moment that Pacquiao’s old promoter Bob Arum is currently in the Philippines in a bid to rekindle the working relationship he had with Pacquiao in an attempt to re-sign him for his promotional rights in the US.

Pacquiao’s last fight saw minimal involvement from Arum, outside of Arum’s company Top Rank brokering the US distribution of the fight (against Lucas Matthysse) on the ESPN+ app.

Eddie Hearn and new streaming platform in the US DAZN are also thought to be in the running for Pacquiao’s services but that is seeming more and more unlikely in recent days.

But, from a sheer interest point of view, imagine how big it would be if Floyd Mayweather, the man who shared the ring with Pacquiao in 2015 in boxing’s biggest fight in history, were to sign his old rival in the ring as a fighter to his promotional company?

Mayweather and Pacquiao working together? Now there’s a story if ever there was one.

If that were to happen, lets take that thought a step further.

The rematch between the two being made for 2019 with Mayweather as a participant and as the lead promoter?

Stranger things have happened in this funny old game, that’s for sure.
