Are Spence, Crawford and Mikey Garcia Too Much For Pacquiao At This Stage?

Manny Pacquiao had an impressive showing in his last fight against an aged Lucas Matthysse whom he stopped inside the distance, but, was that enough to warrant putting him in with one of the pound for pound best in boxing next up?

Pacquiao has been linked with fights against the likes of Errol Spence, Terence Crawford and Mikey Garcia next up.

Three fighters who in many ways represent the new generation of talented, top-level fighters coming out of America in the post Mayweather and Pacquiao era.

Mayweather is now retired but Manny has intimated he would like to box for another two or three fights.

He did look very impressive against Matthysse and showed a lot of the speed is still there but are the three fighters above a little too much for him at this stage?

After becoming a world champion in a record eight different weight categories no one in boxing wants to see Pacquiao’s career end with a brutal beating or knockout defeat but ultimately, the choice of who he fights will come down to him.

From a matchmaking and financial standpoint the biggest fight out there for him is most likely a showdown with Amir Khan and also, probably a less intimidating ask than one of the above.

That said, Khan is no easy fight either, so whatever way Pacquiao goes next, he’s going to have to prove to the world that he still has it at the highest level in boxing.
