This week American heavyweight Jarrell Miller brought Anthony Joshua’s mum into his trash talk when he said he’d like to take her out on a date. The jibe has been met with a frosty response in the boxing community and one retired undisputed champion has had the perfect take on the matter.

Trash talk in boxing isn’t anything new of course but bringing someone’s mother into things in boxing doesn’t happen all too often.

Former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Lennox Lewis was very close to his mother and still is.

During his career she was often pictured side by side with Lewis in his training camps for his bouts and on fight week leading up to the fight.

Speaking on Miller’s comments, Lewis had the following reaction:

I don’t like all this disrespecting someone’s mum. It would pretty much make sure u NEVER got a fight with me unless u made it to mandatory no. 1… and even then, it’s gonna be a short night for that person. ???
