Mikey Garcia Reacts To Pacquiao TKO Of Matthysse, Talks Possible Lomachenko or Crawford Fight

Rising pound for pound star Mikey Garcia returns to action very soon but took time out this week to talk about one of boxing’s former pound for pound stars, Manny Pacquiao.

Pacquiao won a seventh round TKO last weekend over Lucas Matthysse and for the most part impressed fans and spectators around the world.

Garcia represents the new generation of top-level fighters in the sport coming through and trying to become pay per view stars but still has huge respect for Pacquiao, what he’s done and what he is still capable of doing.

Speaking to Fight Hype, Garcia said:

“He’s not the same Pacquiao that he was ten years ago but he still has a lot for a lot of fighters though. Lomachenko? They can definitely do that because it’s an in-house promoter, they can also do Crawford. I dunno, it’s up to him what he wants to do. If he made good money on this one and they are offering him twice as much for the next one, I’d take it too. I can understand. He has a good chance against Lomachneko too. He’s small. If you’re talking about Crawford, a bigger guy, arms are long, dangerous, it has to be a lot of money.”

He added:

“He can still fight. There’s not a whole lot more he has to accomplish or prove to anybody.”

Garcia returns to action on July 28th when he fights Robert Easter in LA for the IBF and WBC world lightweight titles.
