David Price Sends Anthony Joshua Stern Warning About Povetkin

David Price knows all too well about Alexander Povetkin having been knocked out by the Russian heavyweight in his last fight but did show some flaws in Povetkin’s defensive game early on in the bout where he had success.

World heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will defend his titles against Povetkin next up on September 22nd in one of the most dangerous fights of his career.

Particularly dangerous as if he were to lose he can say goodbye to the Deontay Wilder super fight next year.

Speaking to Sky Sports, David Price warned Joshua about Povetkin’s power:

“Parker couldn’t knock Takam out cold. Joshua couldn’t knock Takam out cold. Anyone who has beaten Takam, couldn’t knock him out cold, but Povetkin could.”

A very solid point. Joshua threw the kitchen sink at Carlos Takam last year and still could not render him properly out cold.

Moreover, Povetkin no doubt will train like a maniac for this and will be more than confident he can once again knock out an English heavyweight on English soil having done so not long ago against Price.

Povetkin arguably comes into the fight in better form off the back of his knockout win over David Price too, whereas Joshua was involved in a more cautious points win over Joseph Parker.

Make no mistake, this is a very, very difficult fight for Anthony Joshua.

The bout takes place at Wembley Stadium in London on September 22nd with a capacity of the fight expected of 90,000 in attendance.
