Eddie Hearn Rips Tyson Fury’s Comeback Fight

Promoter Eddie Hearn was not a fan of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s comeback fight recently that saw him record a stoppage win over Sefer Seferi.

While the fight didn’t prove to be much of a competitive affair, as expected, some people were not amused with the level of his opponent – including promoter Eddie Hearn.

Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV, Hearn said:

“Exactly what I thought would happen. Exactly the reason we decided not to sign him. You know the stick I get, if I had would have served that up? Mate. Not against that bloke. Mate. Come on. You can’t call yourself the lineal heavyweight champion of the world and say I will go back in with Joshua or Wilder in my first fight and then fight Sefer Seferi, or whatever his name is.”

He continued:

“He did deserve an easy one (in his first fight back) but this kid is not even a boxer really. He’s a promoter. He’s Albanian number two cruiserweight. Number one is his brother. He was Ali shuffling?”

Tyson Fury will next fight on August 18th at Windsor Park in Belfast as part of an outdoor stadium event headlined by Carl Frampton.

Opponents for both Fury and Frampton are to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
