Bob Arum Reveals Huge Fight Pacquiao Wants After Matthysse

Pacquiao Brings Big Time Boxing

Many believed that Pacquiao for his final (or one of his last fights) of his career was looking at a showdown with Terence Crawford at the end of the year. Not the case according to his promoter however – he wants something even bigger. Even tougher.

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum is busy promoting the Terence Crawford vs Jeff Horn fight this week in Las Vegas but next month one of his most famed fighters ever, Manny Pacquiao, also returns to action when he takes on big hitting Argentinian fighter Lucas Matthysse (on July 15th).

Speaking to SiriusXM radio Arum insisted that Pacquiao is after the Lomachenko fight later this year, not the Crawford one:

“He has absolutely no interest in fighting Crawford. He told me that himself. The guy he’s looking to fight is Lomachenko at 135lbs he says, if he can get down to 135lbs.”

On whether he’d make the fight, Arum said:

“Sure. Why not?”

He concluded:

“It would be an amazing, amazing fight.”

Firs thing is first though, Pacquiao must get through his next fight and in good style.

Lomachenko is also recovering from surgery so he won’t be available to fight until November or December this year.

At the earliest.
