Former Ring Magazine heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is using his ongoing feud with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder to put himself in front of Donald Trump.
Last week at a ceremony at the White House the first black heavyweight champion of all time, Jack Johnson, received an official pardon from Trump for something that happened a long time ago – where a wrong against Johnson was put right.
At the ceremony Deontay Wilder was present and spoke some words in support of the decision, as did Trump speak about Wilder’s undefeated record and accomplishments in modern-day boxing.
Well, Tyson Fury has had this to say to Trump and made the following offer:
@realDonaldTrump u need the real heavyweight champion in your office not that bum @BronzeBomber come see the mac is back June 9 in the great city of Manchester uk ??.
I’ll leave 2 vip tickets on the door for u Mr president sir.— DON TYSON FURY (@Tyson_Fury) May 30, 2018
Trump, a one time boxing promoter, is still clearly a boxing fan judging by last week’s ceremony at the White House.
If Fury gets himself back into contention and finds himself fighting for a heavyweight title in the US in the coming years – don’t be surprised to see Trump ringside.
