Former heavyweight champion of the world Tyson Fury has inked a big deal with British broadcasting giant BBC as part of his return to the ring on June 9th.
While BBC from a TV perspective have not shown professional boxing in years, their radio department has been a big supporter of the sport over the years.
Now, Fury and his new promoter Frank Warren have put pen to paper on an exclusive radio rights deal for his June 9th return at the Manchester Arena.
The deal with Frank Warren for exclusive BBC radio commentary rights commenced last month for the Carl Frampton vs Nonito Donaire fight in Belfast.
“Tyson Fury’s comeback fight promises to be a fantastic occasion. We’re delighted to have added his homecoming bout in Manchester in June, as well as his second fight, to our multi-event deal with Frank Warren. With exclusive commentary on BBC Radio 5 live and the BBC Sport website, boxing fans won’t miss a moment of the action.”
Fury has looked in good condition as he mounts his comeback to the sport, with some reports suggesting he has lost somewhere between an astonishing seven to eight stone since his serious training began late last year.
