Inoue's Devastating 1st Round KO Of McDonnell

Naoya Inoue continued to move up the mythical pound for pound list this past Friday night with another impressive performance in Asia.

Moving up in weight he captured Englishman Gavin McDonnell’s WBA super-bantamweight world title with a dominating performance that took under a round to close the show.

Previously holding the WBA super-flyweight title, it was a big jump in weight for Inoue – but you would not have thought it by this:

A dejected McDonnell afterwards vowed to come back.

As for Inoue, what a performance.

A win that improved his record to 16-0-14KO and continued to move him up the pound for pound rankings.

With performances like that, it won’t be long before he sees himself in some big fights in the UK or USA.

As well as snapped up by a major broadcaster on a more permanent basis – sooner rather than later.
