The great ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard was hosting an event this week in California and spoke all things the current boxing scene – including the fight the world wants to see in the heavyweight division.

Anthony Joshua from the UK is currently in the States with most people thinking he is there to finally tie up a deal with fellow heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder from the US to at long last make the heavyweight title super fight everyone wants to see.

Indeed, Ray Leonard like everyone else is excited about the prospect of the bout.

Speaking today at an event he was hosting in California at an open media scrum, Ray said:

“I want to see that fight. I’ll be ringside wherever that is. I think they are trying to decide whether it will be in the States or the UK. It shouldn’t make a difference. I think it’s going to happen. That fight has to happen for them to say who is the best.”

On the potential purse for Anthony Joshua, he added:

“50 million dollars? That will pay a lot of people.”

On where the fight should happen, he concluded:

“Anywhere!”
