Kell Brook Set To Fight In July Before Big Fight

Kell Brook Set To Fight

Former IBF welterweight world champion Kell Brook is looking to keep busy after a recent impressive showing at 154lbs with his eyes already on a big fight in his new division.

For a long time making 147lbs sapped the energy out of Kell Brook but in his last bout at super-welterweight (154lbs) he looked like a new man.

At least physically when making the weight.

Granted, the opposition wasn’t exactly Gennady Golokvin or Errol Spence whom he lost back to back to in recent years, but it was enough to show he can perform very well in the weight class and look healthy making the weight again.

Speaking to Sky Sports today his promoter Eddie Hearn has said Brook is back out soon:

“Kell will be boxing in July and then after that we are looking for the big one. Of course Amir(Khan) is the big focus but I was interested to see Jarrett Hurd’s comments and that’s a fight we would definitely be interested in.”

Great news for fans in that another potential world title fight looks to be soon on the horizon.

The Brook vs Khan fight is surely one that will happen before the end of both men’s careers.

But a Brook vs Hurd world title clash at super-welterweight would be a nice preamble to it when it does happen – eventually.
