Kell Brook In Line For Unexpected World Title Shot

Brook recently returned back in March with a knockout win following back to back losses to Errol Spence and Gennady Golovkin. It now appears a world title shot could be just around the corner.

Brook had some time out of the ring following the loss to Spence last year in a fight where he gave up his IBF world welterweight title.

Before that he was also in another grueling fight, when he moved up all the way to middleweight to fight knockout merchant Gennady Golovkin who damaged Brook’s eye in the contest.

Something that required surgery in the end.

However everything now appears to have come full circle for ‘Special K’.

Brook has perhaps at last found his natural weight class at 154lbs and looked a force in the division last time out.

The UK Express have reported that IBF and WBA super-welterweight champion Jarrett Hurd and his team are now targeting a fight with Brook – in a rather unexpected turn of events.

Following Brook’s old rival Amir Khan winning his comeback fight last month all the talk was of a meeting between Khan and Brook.

But that looks set to have to wait until the end of the year now.

That fight’s going nowhere anyway – it will always be there and be a big fight.
