Ryan Garcia Staying Grounded With Message After Latest Win

Boxing World Reacts To Ryan Garcia 1st Round KO Win

Ryan Garcia is quickly making a name for himself as one of the standout world prospects in boxing at the moment but he’s not letting it go to his head.

This past Friday Garcia stepped up in class against Jayson Velez at the StubHub Center in Carson California and came through perhaps his first real test of his career with a unanimous points decision.

The 19-year-old super featherweight certainly has time on his side but if he continues at this rate in the ring and with his growing fan base outside of it, it won’t be long before a world title opportunity comes knocking.

Following the bout Garcia said the following on social media:

“5-0 13KO’s 19 years old arena was sold out buzzing with so much love. We got this Kingryarmy. I got so much time to only get better and better. We took the challenge on facing a real fighter in Jason Velez and succeeded. Wasn’t easy but if it was everyone would do it.”

Good to see a young prospect not getting too carried away early on.

The win at the weekend improved this Golden Boy promoted fighter’s record but also saw him win the vacant NABF Super Featherweight Title and World Boxing Organisation NABO Super Featherweight Title.
