Confirmed: Carl Frampton Windsor Park Date Penciled In

The Carl Frampton Windsor Park dream fight for the Belfast man has now become a reality today it was confirmed.

The Northern Irish boxer recently secured an impressive points win over Nonito Donaire at the SSE Arena in Belfast afterwards which he stated that a stadium fight at his beloved Windsor Park was what he wanted next.

His promoter Frank Warren has come good on his promise as today it has been confirmed that Frampton will box at Windsor Park this summer on August 18th.

The Belfast date has yet to have an opponent – which will be confirmed shortly.

Speaking to BT Sport Frampton said:

“This is the one – a dream come true. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my career.”

Frampton now boxing at featherweight is in the mature stage of his career and one suspects from here on out depending on how many fights he has left in his boxing career – he’ll opt to solely go after the biggest fights available.

Fighting under a new trainer in Jamie Moore last time out Frampton showed he is still learning and has plenty left just yet.

The fight on August 18th will be for the interim WBO world featherweight title.
