George Groves' Salty Reaction To Khan KO Win Gets People Talking

Most fans and observers of last night’s Amir Khan first round obliteration of Phil Lo Greco were largely positive towards Khan on his comeback fight – but Groves spotted something else.

Groves is currently making solid strides in his rehabilitation from an injury to his shoulder as he prepares for the super-middleweight World Boxing Super Series later this summer against fellow Englishman Callum Smith.

He was a keen spectator of last night’s fight in Liverpool and afterwards said the following:

“Assuming there was big money on a 30 second win… going off the celebration to opposition level ratio?!?”

One could interpret that as possibly raining on Khan’s 40 second first round KO parade a bit, to be fair.

Khan won’t care of course as he moves on to bigger and better things now that he’s back in boxing and doing what he does best.

Also, with Groves fighting at 168lbs, a meeting in the ring between the two will simply never happen anyway.

Although he comes in for a lot of criticism it can’t be denied that Amir Khan is not in good fights, does not have buckets of heart – or that he doesn’t try to go after the big fights and tough challenges.
